introduction
The word ‘TAPOVAN’ or ‘GURUKUL’ evokes memories of ancient times, a time which exists no more and which needs to be brought back to the present, leading into the future. In ancient days the child was sent to an Ashram of a Guru to learn all the skills which would enable him to negotiate through the labyrinth of life and also acquire knowledge and wisdom so as to find real fulfilment in life. Krishna, Balram and Sudama were shishyas of Guru Sandipani and Dronacharya were mentors to a large number of shishyas. Then came Nalanda and Takshshila, the abode of not only the natives but also of those from the far-off lands.
Now is the time to revive those ancient institutions of learning but with a difference. Times have changed. Science and Technology have progressed relentlessly and hence the need for an Educational Complex which will affect a synergy of ancient values and modern science and technology. As the famous historian and thinker Will Durant says; “The world cannot be saved without wisdom.” We cannot ignore the demands of the age, we cannot turn a blind eye to science and technology, nor can we look at the world with blinkers on. We should aim at molding minds and shaping careers and also developing children into complete human beings. TAPOVAN ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL Precisely aims at these objectives.
